Referral to our Mentoring Programme
Our mentoring programme is now closed for referrals. We hope to be able to fund a further programme of mentoring in the future. We will make an announcement when this happens. We are sorry for any disappointment.
Information for Parents
What happens next?
Once you have submitted your form, a member of the Young Carers Team will begin the matching process to find the right mentor. You will also receive a copy of the form sent to you via email. If the mentoring is going to be during school time then we will also contact the school to begin the arrangements for this. If the mentoring is planned to happen online (via Zoom) then we will be in touch with you to sort out dates and times and to ensure that you have the necessary equipment and software so that things go smoothly.
Your consent
We need your consent to continue with the whole process. At the bottom of the form there is a tick box for parents / carers and you will need to complete this before we can go any further. The consent given here is only for us to arrange and organise mentoring. If you have any questions about this please do contact us on youngcarers@barnetcarers.org

What happens next?
You will receive a copy of the referral form sent directly to you by email on submission of the form. A member of the Young Carers Team will then contact the parent/carer to obtain their consent for us to start arranging the mentoring. If the parent/carer agrees to in-school mentoring we will also contact the school.
This process can sometimes take a period of time – depending on how soon we can obtain parent/carer consent. If you would like us to keep you in touch with progress, please indicate this on the form.
