Holiday Activities
We know that young carers have a lot on their plate, but we want to make sure that during the school holidays they can have as much fun as everyone else.
All of our activities are FREE and we work hard to offer what young carers tell us they want.
Arts and Drama
If you feel creative, we have an activity for you. In the last year we have run arts and crafts workshop with our partner Create as well as drama workshops with Mousetrap Theatre Company. But we also get creative with cooking – look out for our fun workshops with Bread N’ Butter.
Adventure Activity
From kayaking and raft building to fun walks in the woods and, of course, theme parks with rides for the adventurous.
Residentials
Our residential trips run with the Honeypot Children’s charity provide a great opportunity for a few days away with friends.
Theatre and Film Trips
Not just a trip to the cinema – although we do that as well. We run regular trips to the theatre and musicals in the West End of London. If you are a fan then an evening out to theatre land with Barnet Young Carers is not to be missed.
Museums and Famous Sights
The Science Museum, Westminster Abbey, art galleries and much more. Our aim is to broaden the horizons of young carers and give them access to the many sights of London.
Broadening your Horizons
Thorpe Park
We recently had two great trips to Thorpe Park under our Broadening Horizons Programme. Fantastic days out for groups of 26 young carers and play staff. Young carers in Barnet are getting the opportunity to get on those rollercoasters through the support of the John Lyons Charity.
Westminster Abbey
Not just a trip to Westminster Abbey but a fantastic public speaking course. Our young carers had a great time and learnt some really useful skills in public speaking which increased their confidence and added to the many things that they could already do.

Access to all of our activities is FREE but you do need to be registered as a young carer with us. That is easy to do. Just email the Team at Barnet Young Carers and we will contact you to sort everything out.
