We have a brilliant opportunity for young carers coming up in March. To celebrate Young Carers Action Day, Barnet Young Carers have got together with our colleagues at Better Leisure, Barnet Partnership for School Sport, Fit and Active Barnet and Family Services to bring you an all day sports and activities day. On Monday 16th March from 10am to 2.30pm we will be running a huge Young Carers Fun Day.
We want to reward young carers for all they do and this day does just that. There will be opportunities for swimming, gym sessions, pickleball, badminton, arts and crafts and much more.
But it’s a school day! I know, but the Barnet Education and Learning Service has agreed that any young carers attending the event will be marked at school as having an authorised absence – so no problems there.
The day starts at 10am and runs through to 2.30pm and young carers will have to bring their own packed lunch. Young carers will also have to be taken (and picked up) or make their own way to Copthall Leisure Centre as we are unable to provide transport.
Sound interesting? Excellent. You do have to sign your young carer up for the event and you can do that here, There are a few questions to be answered about allergies, swimming etc. but it should take you less than 5 minutes to fill in the form.
