If you are, or think you may be a young carer, then you are not on your own.  Barnet has over 6,500 young carers. We know that all young carers are different and have different challenges.  We have been working with young carers for decades and there is not a great deal our team has not seen.

What we do know, is that with the right support, most young carers can thrive and live the lives they want to.  And that is where we come in.

Our programmes provide great activities for young carers of all ages during the school holidays and some really special opportunities.  We can also help you if you are struggling at school.  Our education support includes free tutoring in all subjects and can really help you get back on track if your caring role has had an impact on your school work.  We also have a mentoring programme which gives you the opportunity to have a skilled and experienced mentor – many of whom have been young carers themselves – to talk to you about your experiences.

We believe that young carers can be supported to ensure that they can live the lives they want to and look forward to the future.  We know that we cannot remove their caring responsibilities, but we know that we can support young carers when they need it most.
