Information for parents and carers

The Barnet Young Carers Team works closely with the local authority to offer all round support for families where there is a young carer.  If you feel that you need additional help as a family please contact us and we can make a referral to one of the Family Services Hubs in the borough.

One of the ways in which your family can be supported is through an Early Help Assessment.  An Early Help Assessment is a way of looking at what is going well in your family, what the worries are and what could be done to help things improve.

If you think that your family could benefit from an Early Help Assessment please contact us using the button below.

Supporting the young carers in your family

If you have a young carer in your family, there is lots of support available from great activities and days out through tuition and educational support to mentoring.

The first step is to register your young carer with us.  You can do that by emailing us here or by calling 0203 995 1909.

After that, we will arrange a simple and friendly assessment to work out the best way in which we can provide your young carer with the support that will help them.

After registration, your young carer is eligible to take part in our many free services including activities, mentoring and educational support.
